‘Outs’ are the total number of cards which would improve your poker hand. For an instance, in the game of Texas Hold’em, if you had the king of clubs and the ace in the hole, and there were a 10 of clubs, jack of diamonds or 8 of clubs on the flop, then you would have a lot of ‘outs’. These 9 clubs would give you the nut flush whereas the 2 other queens would form a straight, 10 to the Ace. This means that you are dealing with 11 ‘outs’ in total.
